Our city is safer and more prosperous today than it was when I became your Councilmember 16 years ago.

Homelessness is a county-wide problem. Working in partnership with Mayor Wells, Councilmember Goble, and Councilmember McClellan, I am proud of what we have accomplished. Our plan secured federal grants and moved 5,000 people off the streets.

Our law enforcement works tirelessly to protect us. They know how important it is to have the support of City Hall. That’s why the El Cajon Police Officers’ Association chose to endorse me. I led the fight to get tobacco, drugs, and alcohol out of the hands of our children. My initiative reduced under-age alcohol sales by 93%. This earned awards from Communities Against Substance Abuse and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

You may have read about the dire financial straits of neighboring cities. I am very proud that we have saved $40 million in reserves to prepare for any upcoming emergency. As your representative on the Heartland Fire Authority, I fought to dramatically cut your fire insurance premiums, putting your money back in your hands.

I ask for your vote.
